Utvecklingsarbetet som gjordes för att ta fram referensförsteget NAC 552 gav också frukt i form av NAC 252, Naims näst bästa försteg som delar flera tekniska framsteg med sitt större syskon. I NAC 252 sitter exempelvis en processor som sover medan musik spelas och kontrollerar alla aspekter av försteget, inklusive skyddskretsar. Dessutom är kretskort upphängda för att motverka störande vibrationer. NAC 252 strömsätts alltid av en Supercap som ser till att varje del av försteget får en så bra strömmatning som möjligt.
