Med VPL-HW10 lanserade Sony en kompetent hemmabioprojektor med avancerad teknik till konsumentpris. Med den lätt förbättrade efterföljaren VPL-HW15 kom genomslaget och nu är det återigen dags för en uppdatering i och med VPL-HW20.

För att ligga steget före och driva kraven på biokvalitet i hemmabioanläggningar, lanserar Sony en ny hemmabioprojektor för den breda marknaden. Projektorn VPL-HW20 kommer att kunna ge spelfantaster, hemmabio- och sportentusiasterna det bästa inom HD bild.

Till de främsta nyheterna hör en mer avancerad bländare som hämtats från proffsmodellen VW85 kallad Advanced Iris 3. Bländaren fungerar som det mänskliga ögat och anpassar öppningens storlek efter nivån på ljuset och väljer på så sätt den mest optimala kontrasten. Detta resulterar i en dynamisk kontrast på 80 000:1 och att detaljer kan lyftas fram även i de allra mörkaste sekvenserna.
Även ljusstyrkan har ökats till 1 300 lumen i HW20.Linsen har en manuell 1,6x-zoom och kan förskjuta bilden i sidled både vertikalt och horisontellt så att projektorn inte måste stå mitt för bilden.

Precis som föregångarna är VPL-HW20 försedd med tre separata SXRD-paneler med en upplösning på 1920x1080. Till skillnad från en LCD-projektor vars tre LCD-paneler släpper igenom ljuset grundfärg för grundfärg så reflekteras ljuset mot SXRD-panelerna och sätts därefter samman till en färgbild i en prisma.

Sony’s SXRD Panel technology
The VPL-HW20 uses Sony’s unique SXRD 3 panel display system for smooth, dot-free display, vivid colours and massive true dynamic contrast ratio (80,000:1). Three separate red, blue and green panels combine to give a virtuoso colour performance, with exceptional detail.
Advanced Iris3 control
This is an automatic iris control feature that enhances the contrast. It maximises black levels without diminishing peak brightness.
True 24p mode
True 24p mode displays material at a genuine 24 frames per second for an authentic, film-like appearance. Watch films exactly as the creators intended.
Wide range of Gamma correction
A total of 7 Gamma settings provide flexibility to match the brightness curve of the projected image to the image content.
10-bit colour delivery
With 10-bit colour, the VPL-HW20 delivers smoother gradations between shades of the same colour, without the contours that are visible on other displays.
